Sandrine joined Simpson Housing Services in 2016. In her role as HR Benefits and Administration Manager, she works behind the scenes to foster and facilitate employee engagement. Initially, she was intrigued by Simpson’s hands-on approach to direct service; and was drawn to Simpson’s mission and everything it stood for. While in college, she volunteered at Simpson’s overnight Shelter from 2011 to 2012. In seeing first-hand how much of a difference volunteering made in people’s lives, her experience re-directed her career path to one of direct service in the non-profit sector.
She immigrated from Cameroon, West Africa with her mother and 3 siblings and has since made Minnesota her home. She is a huge advocate for pursuing a higher education. She graduated from Normandale Community College with an A.Sc. in Chemical Engineering, as well as an A.A. with double emphasis in Chemistry and Mathematics. She then went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biochemistry from Minnesota State University, Mankato. All of which she vehemently declares she will never use as her passion truly lies in social services.
In her free time, she enjoys cooking, reading, writing stories, playing The Sims 2, the occasional hiking trip, spending time with her partner, scouring for new ice-cream places and trying out new cuisine.
Sandrine has been with SHS since 2016.
