As the Children and Youth Programs Manager, Jocelyn develops and supports programming for children and youth in our Family Housing Program, which includes Passage Tutoring, Literacy Mentoring, and Middle School Mentoring Programs. In her previous role as Literacy Mentoring Program Coordinator, she worked diligently to match K-5 youth with a caring adult mentor to work on their reading skills as well as to explore their identity and the community.
She has a Bachelor’s degree in International Studies from Macalester College and a Master’s of Public Policy from the Humphrey School at the University of Minnesota. Before coming to SHS, Jocelyn managed in-school and out of school time tutoring and enrichment programs, primarily for English Language Learners. Jocelyn believes strongly in the power of reading and the strong impact relationships can have on people’s lives, which drew her to SHS’ Literacy Mentoring Program. She enjoys reading in her spare time, as well as baking, cooking, knitting, and exploring Minnesota’s parks with friends.
Jocelyn has been with SHS since 2016.
